Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Duy Ngoc announced the information at the Government press conference, under the chair of Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung on November 5 in Ha Noi.

At the press conference, Dung said that on behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc extended his condolences to the families of the victims, adding that the Government commits to doing its utmost to share the huts and losses at the opening ceremony of Government monthly meeting on the same day.

On October 25, the PM directed related sides to clarify the reason, investigate and launch necessary measures to join hands with the British side during the process of handling and resolving the case.

Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh directly chaired a working session with relevant agencies to realize upcoming tasks.

On November 3, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung and representatives of the Ministry of Public Security travelled to the UK to handle the case and Minister of Public Security To Lam directly discussed with the British side.

The identity of the victims will be officially announced soon, the Chairman of the Government Office said.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Ngoc said that after the identifying of identity is launched in line with the regulations of the law and customs of the host nation, the Vietnamese functional agencies will coordinate with localities to announce the identity to the families of the victims.

Regarding measures to prevent illegal overseas Vietnamese, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said that human trafficking and illegal migration are different from the sending laborers working abroad.

Sending laborers working aboard is implemented in line with the Law on Vietnamese workers working abroad.

Foreign countries receiving Vietnamese workers have signed agreements and memorandum of understandings on labor with Viet Nam.

Currently, nearly 400 licensed enterprises are qualified to send Vietnamese workers abroad. Over the recent three years, more than 100,000 laborers were sent overseas each year, focusing on such areas as the Republic of Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia.

Viet Nam has inked labor cooperation with two nations in the Europe, including Romania (3,000 ones in 2018 and early months of 2019) and Germany (1,066 ones).

Overseas Vietnamese workers are granted with visas and enjoy citizen protection and social insurance.
