ACB: First bank in VN receiving 6 int’l awards

VGP – By winning the title “Best Bank in Việt Nam 2009” granted by the magazine The Banker on December 1, the Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) becomes the first bank in the country to have the same title recognized by six prestigious magazines: Asiamoney, FinanceAsia, Global Finance, Euromoney, The Asset and The Banker.

December 02, 2009 5:28 PM GMT+7

The Banker confers the title after carefully analyzing different criteria, including financial and credit situations (capital, total assets, net profits, return on equity, non-performing debt and return-cost ratio), growth rates in three consecutive years (2006, 2007 and 2008), initiatives to multiple values to shareholders, projects to create market advantages, and competitiveness.

After 16 years of development, ACB has confirmed its status as a leading joint-stock commercial bank in Việt Nam with the growth rate 2-2.5 times higher than that of the banking sector.

With the charter capital is VND 7,705.75 billion and over 24,000 shareholders, ACB is the 5th biggest bank in Việt Nam in terms of total asset, holding 10% of the market-share for savings and 57% for international credit cards.

ACB has over 200 basic products and nearly 230 transaction offices nationwide.
