AHSOM 11 to be convened in VN in December
VGP – The Vietnamese General Statistics Office will host the 11th ASEAN Heads of Statistical Offices Meeting (AHSOM 11) on December 7-9.

AHSOM 11 is
the gathering of chiefs of statistical agencies of ten ASEAN member countries
and their partners, namely the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), EUROSTAT,
and national statistics offices of China ,
Japan , and the Republic of Korea
AHSOM 11 will
center its discussions on specific cooperation programs among these offices towards
the establishment of an ASEAN Community Statistical System by 2015.
ASEAN Statistical
Offices will help each other promote
their statistical capacity and jointly make up the ASEAN Statistics List, the ASEAN
Statistical Indicators, and the ASEAN Statistical Database.
AHSOM 11 will
also assess the implementation of the EU-funded project on increasing
statistical capacity and discuss with partners some specific programs on
financial and technical assistance and human resource training for ASEAN’s
statistical industry.
