ASEAN Film Awards to be held in VN

VGP - The ASEAN Film Awards will be held in the central city of Da Nang from November 24-28.

October 12, 2017 4:14 PM GMT+7

It is part of the activities to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The event will be themed “Cinematography Connecting the ASEAN Community” as a testament to the best works of regional filmmakers and the inspiration they give newcomers to the seventh art.

The judging panel consists of film producer Jonathan Hyong-Joon Kim of the Republic of Korea, director Roger Garcia of Hong Kong (China) and director and scriptwriter Karolina Bielawska of Poland.

The event will also include a US$3,000 cash prize for the best movie. Other awards will include best director, best actor, and best actress.

The event aims to honour Viet Nam’s best movies and create a platform for artists and film producers to share experience.

The first Viet Nam Film Festival was held in Ha Noi in 1970.
