ASEAN businesses should found closer links

VNGOVNet – Vietnam’s significant progresses in socio-economic development in the past time are partly due to the close cooperation with ASEAN members. The most dynamic path is to connect ASEAN enterprises, forming a firm status to fruitfully cooperate other businesses throughout the world.

Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng emphasized so while receiving a delegation from the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) in the March 29 afternoon in Hanoi.

He highly hailed ASEAN BAC’s performance, stating that the ASEAN Governments have a great expectation of the Council and pay special attention and contribution to the development of ASEAN BAC in particular and the ASEAN community in general.

The Vietnamese Deputy PM suggested some ideas and initiatives for the Council to discuss in the ASEAN BAC Summit scheduled on November 16-18, 2007 in Singapore to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ASEAN. He stressed that, prestigious enterprises should make closer linkage to create an aggregate strength and powerful status; and prioritize the promotion of the ASEAN trademark in the world market.

The Council should pose questions to ASEAN leaders about problems obstructing business as well as best solutions to deal with them, such as an effective supervision system over commodity circulation, especially the cooperation between customs offices to prevent risks and negative impacts caused by the world market, said the Deputy PM. He asserted that, ASEAN countries and enterprises should establish common funds and plans to train human resources.

The ASEAN BAC delegation highly appreciated Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng’s suggestions. They showed their strong admiration to Vietnam’s constant economic growth. Through the meetings with Vietnamese counterparts, ASEAN enterprises recognized the development of many key industries in Vietnam and expressed their desire to link the ASEAN business community for better opportunities of cooperation and investment.
