Agribank listed among VNR500 Top 10

VGP -The Viet Nam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) was named in the Top 10 of VNR500 in 2015 and was the only commercial bank in the position.

The latest top rankings of VNR500, which indicates Viet Nam’s largest enterprises by revenues, showed that the bank has secured the place for five consecutive years.
 
This year’s VNR500 list, the 9th edition, aims to honour high-profile enterprises in Viet Nam’s business community.

Agribank is the largest commercial bank in Viet Nam in terms of total assets, equity, human resources, operating network and client base.
 
Founded 26 years ago, its main task is to provide loans for agricultural and rural development.
 
The bank’s total assets were over VND874 trillion (US$39.7 billion) as of 31 December 2015 and its total mobilised capital reached over VND804 trillion (US$36.5 billion), up 16.5% compared to the same period in 2014.
 
The bank has lent out a total of over VND673 trillion (US$31 billion), a rise of 16% against 2014. The bank also earned a before -tax profit of VND3.7 trillion (US$168 million) in 2015.
 
Agribank has carried out social welfare programmes and for these it has received numerous recognitions and awards from the State, Government, banking sector and international organisations.
 
The bank is leading other credit organisations in supplying loans in service of the construction of new style rural areas.
 
The prestigious magazine The Banker has ranked Agribank 446th among the world’s top 1000 banks./.
