Agro-forestry and fishery export pockets US $1.75 bil. in Sept

VGP – The export turnover of agro-forestry and fishery reached US $1.75 billion in September, bringing the total export value to US $13.93 billion in the first nine months, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

According to the latest report of the MARD, from January to September, the export turnover expanded 22.3% against the same period last year.

Specifically, in the first nine months, agricultural products saw an export revenue of US $7.32 billion, up 21% and aqua-products US $3.47 billion, up 14.2%.

With 5.55 million tons of rice shipped to other countries in three quarters, Việt Nam pocketed US $2.56 billion, posting a 12% increase in terms of voluem and 14% higher in terms of value. Coffee, rubber, tea, cashew-nut and pepper are Việt Nam’s key agricultural exports after rice. 

Since the beginning of the year, forestry products and timber have enjoyed a relatively high export turnover of US $2.6 billion.

Việt Nam has also earned US $3.5 billion from shipping aquatic products to other markets like Japan (18.4%) and the US (18%)./.
