An Giang considers biotechnology a new strength
VNGOP – The southern province of An Giang will focus on developing and applying biotechnology in all fields of production and life towards 2020 with a view to forging a new economic strength.

The province will give priority to attracting high-qualified labor force as well as popularizing the biotechnological application in production.
In the period of 2011-15, it intends to set up main biotechnology laboratories, arboretums, and bio-technological enterprises.
Moreover, An Giang will vigorously promote the research and development of high technologies to provide new high-yield and high-quality varieties, environmentally friendly technologies and products, bio-fuels (bio-gas, bio-petroleum, bio-diesel) to ensure a clean production and energy security as well.
To encourage the development of biotechnology, the province will offer more preferential mechanisms and incentives to facilitate the R&D, application, transfer, import of biotechnologies and know-how, develop the technological market, and train human resource in this field.
