The program themed, “strengthening public integrity and law enforcement for effective anti-corruption” was launched on December 9, 2010.

The program consists of two major activities including an innovative contest and knowledge exchange to find out and assist feasible innovative ideas on anti-corruption in the community.

The fight against corruption depends not only on efforts by State agencies but also positive participation and support of the entire society, said Deputy Chief Inspector Trần Đức Lượng while addressing the opening ceremony of the final round.

According to Mr. Lương, VACI 2011 targets to raise public awareness of anti-corruption law and bring into play the role and responsibility of the people, agencies, organizations, units and public employees in combating the menace.

WB Country Director in Việt Nam Victoria Kwakwa expressed her hope that VACI 2011 would make positive contributions to assisting the Vietnamese Government in fighting corruption./.
