Anti-corruption to be taught at schools
VGP – Under a plan just approved by the PM, by the end of 2011, the combat against corruption will have been included in education and training curricula in schools nationwide.
The
plan aims to raise awareness of students, civil servants and officials in
fighting corruption to launch a national-scale anti-corruption campaign.
The plan will be implemented at high schools,
colleges, universities, and administrative institutions of the Party, State
agencies, armed forces, and socio-political organizations.
School-level education on preventing and fighting
corruption will focus on the conceptions in the Anti-corruption Law, such as
causes, negative consequences of corruption and attitude of students towards
corrupt acts.
Anti-corruption is also inserted into extra-curricular programs and activities for
students to easily comprehend.
At colleges and
universities, the teaching of anti-corruption will be deepened in order to encourage
students’ cooperation with competent agencies in the combat against corruption.
The plan also aims at
increasing ability for teachers and lecturers who are in charge of
disseminating anti-corruption knowledge. Accordingly, 3-5 day workshops on
anti-corruption will be regularly opened for them.
