The second largest transport project in Cambodia, after a project on building National Highway 78, is capitalized at US$38 millon sourced from preferential credit provided by the Government of Viet Nam.

The 5,700-meter bridge is scheduled to be completed in 20 months, becoming the shortest route connecting Phnom Penh and Vietnam’s border and contributing to boosting both countries’ economic and trade development and enhancing hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the disadvantaged border regions.

Addressing the launching, PM Dung praised the coordination between Ministries of Finance and Transportation and Cambodia’s relevant agencies to conduct studies, design and procedures for the project.

He stressed that the work symbolizes the comprehensive cooperation between the two nations and asked both countries’ relevant agencies to carry out the project on schedule, ensure the quality and the investment effectiveness, as well as put the bridge into operation as soon as possible.
