The statement was released this morning as the outcome of the 6th Cambodia-Laos-Việt Nam (CLV) Summit held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

PM Dũng called for more effective coordination and more national-level priorities to improve infrastructure, the key to create breakthroughs in such a slow developing area.

The PMs adopted the Planning Scheme of the triangle until 2020, which was drafted by Việt Nam.

The leaders also witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (amended) on preferential policies for the triangle.

The initiative of CLV Economic Triangle was introduced in October 1999 in Laos to enhance solidity and cooperation for socio-economic development in the common border area of the three countries while maintaining stability and security there.

At first, the triangle included 10 border provinces but it was expanded to 13.
