The Government chief made the warning while addressing the meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Saturday.

Pham, who is also Head of the National Steering Committee, said no one is safe when the others remain infected with COVID-19 and no locality is safe while others still have to grapple with COVID-19.

He urged subordinate levels to overcome shortcomings, place top priority on minimizing the death rate and containing the pandemic situation, and ensure social security for residents.

Pham tasked the Ministry of Information and Communications to develop unique app to make it convenient for authorities and people in the COVID-19 fight.

Pham also ordered localities to mull over aspects such as travel restrictions and circulation of goods when they issue new regulations on COVID-19 responses.

Nearly two months after social distancing were imposed in 23 cities and provinces, there have been positive signals, with Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Phu Yen, Soc Trang, and Ca Mau having effectively managed the outbreak.

Localities like Can Tho, Long An, Tien Giang, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Ha Noi, Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, An Giang, Ba Ria-Vung Tau are on the right track.

The situation is also getting better in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong – the current biggest COVID-19 hotspots in Viet Nam.

However, the situation in Kien Giang has become more complicated, according to PM Pham./.
