COVID-19 patient declared fully recovered, coronavirus lockdown lifted in Ha Giang

VGP – Viet Nam’s 268th COVID-19 patient, who was treated at the Dong Van General Hospital in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, was declared to have fully recovered from the disease on April 30, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 220 out of the 270 confirmed cases (or 81%).

Patient No. 268 is declared fully recovered

During the course of treatment, the patient tested negative for the coronavirus four times in a row. Currently, the patient is in stable health with no fever, no cough and no shortness of breath.

The patient will remain under quarantine and health surveillance over the next 14 days.

Earlier, a H’Mong ethnic minority girl in Dong Van district’s Pho La commune was confirmed by the Ministry of Health as Viet Nam’s 268th COVID-19 infection case.

On April 7, the patient showed COVID-19 symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath, and was quarantined at the Dong Van General Hospital. The patient was tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Based on the actual situation of the disease, from 0:00 on April 30, the Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee decided to lift the coronavirus lockdown on the Dong Van General Hospital, Pho Bang town, and Pho La commune in Dong Van district, and the Thanh Thuy medical station in Vi Xuyen district.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Viet Nam recorded no new COVID-19 cases as of April 30 morning, marking 14 days in a row the country has reported no community infections. Of the confirmed patients, 130 are imported cases who were quarantined upon their arrival./.
