Viet Nam has confirmed 16 COVID-19 patients so far and 14 of them have left hospital after successfull treatment.

The rest patients, US citizen, and a worker, have been kept at medical establishments in Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Phuc, respectively, for treatment with stable health status, said the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, the worker, who was the 16th confirmed case in Viet Nam, has been quarantined at a medical establishment in Binh Xuyen district, Vinh Phuc province. She is also in stable health condition.

Thanks to the Government's drastic measures, the epidemic has been controlled well and no new infection cases have been reported since the last case confirmed on February 13.

At the same time, the Government tasked sectors, including tourism to explore all possible ways to mitigate impacts of the epidemic in order to realize development goals set for 2020.

At his meeting with Director General of the Viet Nam Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh, Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Kunio Umeda spoke highly of Viet Nam’s fight against COVID-19 epidemic, adding that Viet Nam has done better than Japan.

He said he would update his country’s competent agencies, business community and people about recent situation in Viet Nam.
