Cái Mép International Port Joint-venture founded

VNGOVNet – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has agreed the implementation of the Project to establish the Cái Mép International Port Joint-venture between the Sài Gòn Port (Vietnam) and Maersk A/S Company (Denmark) basically in accordance with reports and proposals from the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).

The PM assigned the Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province People’s Committee to collaborate with the MPI and relevant ministries and sectors in issuing an investment certificate for the Project, clearly defining binding conditions for the investor’s responsibility to mobilize resources and implement the Project in line with the committed schedule; and fulfilling the State management functions over the project’s implementation in conformity with the schedule and current stipulations.

The Ministry of Transport will direct the Vietnam National Shipping Lines to consider whether or not to participate in the project in order to raise the Vietnamese side’s capacity of realizing the Project.
