Cao Lanh recognized as second-grade city

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has recently signed a decision to recognize Cao Lanh as a second-grade city in Dong Thap province.

Cao Lanh city has a natural land area of 10,726.6 hectares including 3,013.7 hectares of urban areas (28.1%), and is 154km from HCMC and 80km from Can Tho. The city has a population of 211,912 in 2018. 

Laborers total 91,899, of whom 79.1% are non-agricultural workers. 

Over the past three years, the city witnessed relatively high economic growth at 10.66% on average. Economic structure was transformed positively including the industry-construction sector accounting for 52.65%; the trade-service sector with 42.88%; theagro-forestry-fishery sector with 4.47%. 

Per capita income was improved remarkably with VND 83.43 million per year, 1.43 times higher than 2018 figure. Poverty rate declined to only 2.4%./.
