The three-day event, co-organized by the HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Asia-Pacific Tourism Association (APTA), aims to promote growth rate, increase the quality of tourist activities in the region and support tourist advertisement activities of member nations in the association.

The event also creates a chance to advertise the image of Ho Chi Minh City and strengthen cooperation between foreign and city travel agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong revealed that tourism is one of the top economic sectors of the city, adding that the city’s authorities have proposed synchronous policies and solutions to advertise and diversify tourist products.

Delegates discussed crucial issues related to the Greater Mekong Sub-region Tourism Development Strategy, the development trend of tourism and hotel management in Asia, management of human resources, heritage tourism, policies and media technologies in the tourism sector.
