Crucial issues discussed at Party Central Committee's 9th session

VGP - The agenda of the ninth session of the Party Central Committee is crucial to the fulfillment of political tasks of the Central Committee in its term XI and preparations for the 12th National Party Congress.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made a speech at the opening ceremony, revealing main issues to discuss and make decisions.

Firstly, the Party Chief required reviewing 15 years of implementing the Party Central Committee's Resolution No.5 (term VIII) on culture, analyzing and forecasting the domestic and international context and situations from now till 2020, with a vision to 2030 to serve the outlining of a new Resolution on establishing and developing Vietnamese culture and human.

Secondly, referring to the preparations of the Draft on documents submitted to the 12th Congress of the Party, Mr. Trong asked to spare time for researching documents, discussing and giving comments on specific proposals in the Draft.

Thirdly, the Party Chief asked for the Political Bureau to issue Directive directing the organization of the Party Congresses at all levels and the 12th National Congress of the Party.

Fourthly, on the Party election regulations, the leader suggested the Central Committee give comments and directly amend articles and items of the Draft regulations.

Fifthly, regarding the realization of the regulation of confidence votes, the Political Bureau's Regulation No. 165 on confidence votes has proved a crucial tool to evaluate officials' performance. The Party leader proposed discussing and giving comments on supplementing and amending the regulation.

The participants will evaluate the five-year implementation of the Resolutions issued by the Party Central Committee and the National Assembly.

They will discuss the tasks, rights and organization of local authorities in 10 pilot provinces and cities to increase their performances and promote the right to mastery of citizens./.
