The Deputy PM will be accompanied by Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung, Vice Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Khac Dinh, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Tran Quang Quy, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Viet Thanh, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ngoc Phi, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen The Phuong and Director of Ha Noi National University Phung Xuan Nha.

Under the theme “Asia’s search for steps forwards stronger ties and integration,” the international conference will bring together political leaders and top business executives to discuss the future of Asian-Pacific nations and how development in the region stands to impact the global economy.

Since its inauguration in 1995, the conference has been recognized as one of the foremost international conferences in Asia.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of relations between Japan and ASEAN. For ASEAN countries, growing ties with Japan -- and that with Asia's new power China -- are important.

From an economic perspective, relationships of interdependence are deepening.

In the realm of politics, sensitive issues such as border and territorial disputes however still linger.

In a year of leadership changes in Japan, the Republic of Korea and China, the question of how Asian countries should forge closer relationships and build stronger regional cooperation is of the utmost importance. Prospects for the region's continued sustainable growth will also be addressed./.
