DPM bids farewell to Cambodian Ambassador

Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh congratulated the Ambassador on having accomplished successfully his mission in Viet Nam and praised the diplomat for boosting the relations between the two countries and two foreign ministries. 

The host leader recalled eventfully diplomatic events during the Ambassador’s term in Viet Nam including the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Cambodia (1967-2017), the 40th anniversary of the southwest border defense war victory, the 40th anniversary of the toppling of the Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime (1979-2019). 

Two-way trade turnover increased vigorously from US$ 2.92 billion in 2016 to US$ 3.8 billion in 2017, to US$ 4.7 billion in 2018 and is expected to exceed US$ 5 billion in 2019. 

In reply, Ambassador Prak Nguon Hong hailed Viet Nam’s achievements in all fields and her high position in the international arena. 

The guest leader took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese Government and people for supporting Cambodian peers to escape from the Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime.

He also affirmed to spare no effort to nurture the bilateral ties./.
