DPM calls for active response to criminal prevention

VGP – Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh underlined the necessity to predict situations and take active responses to criminal prevention.

The National Steering Committee for prevention and control of smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeit goods (NSC389) and the Government’s Steering Committee for crime fight (C138/CP) jointly held a teleconference to sum up operation in the first half of 2019 and implement tasks in the rest of the year. 

Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quy Vuong reported that in January-June period, there were 25,600 crime cases, down 0.99% against the same period last year. Police captured 45,000 subjects; disclosed nearly 10,000 economic crime cases, 168 corruption cases, and 14,000 cases on environmental infringements. 

Deputy PM Binh tasked ministries, agencies, and localities to implement directions of the PM, NSC389 and C138/CP on prevention and control of smuggling, trade frauds, counterfeit goods.  

The Deputy PM proposed relevant units to make accurate forecasts; take active steps in crime prevention; maintain security and order for importantly political and cultural events; seriously implement Directive 10/CT-TTg, dated April 22, 2019 on strengthening effective management and prevention of harassment and problems for people and businesses in working performance. 

Mr. Binh also suggested more technological application and international cooperation in combating crimes, smuggling, trade frauds, and counterfeit goods./.
