Deputy PM Minh highlighted the significance of foreign loans. He also revealed that almost all WB-funded projects met schedule and have fully been utilized.

According to Mr.  Minh, 2017 was the last year Viet Nam receives preferential loans from the International Development Association (IDA) of the WB. The international lender sponsored 14 projects worth US$ 2.1 billion.

Both sides also discussed the WB Country Partnership Framework (CPF) in the 2018-2022 period which would orient development cooperation between Viet Nam and the international organization.

The CPF was composed on the basis of analysis and conclusions of the Viet Nam Report 2035, the Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD, and Performance and Learning Reviews (PLRs); in accordance with socio-economic development strategy in the 2010-2020 period.

Mr. Ousmane Dione said that CPF will focus on overall growth, the private sector, human investment, intelligence, sustainability, resistant capacity of the environment.

He also pledged that the WB will closely shake hands with Viet Nam to mobilize resources for effective implementation of CPF.

In addition, 2018 fiscal year will mark a new period in the relations between Viet Nam and the international lender as Viet Nam will graduate IDA since July, 2017. Accordingly, CPF loans will source from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and IDA (without preference)./.
