DPM meets with Japanese Speaker of House of Representatives

VGP  - Continuing his official visit to Japan, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Tuesday met with Speaker of House of Representatives Yokomichi Takahiro.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his hope that the National Diet of Japan would continue supporting the two Governments to deploy joint projects on such fields like rare earth industry development and formulation of a strategy for bilateral industrial cooperation through 2020.

Speaker Yokomichi Takahiro sent his thanks to the Vietnamese Government and people for assisting Japanese people to overcome the consequences of the twin natural disasters in March, 2011.

He said that the relations between Vietnam and Japan have been flourishing well, with some 500,000 Japanese visiting Vietnam each year.

The Speaker also stressed that Vietnam’s socio-economic development and political stability have  substantially contributed to peace, stability and development in Asia.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also met with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Edano Yukio.

Minister Edano affirmed that Japan would help Vietnam to realize its strategy for industry development through 2020, improve infrastructure.

Japanese side also expects to enhance cooperation in environment and climate change areas with Vietnam.
