Deputy PM Dung said that the Viet Nam-Japan friendly relations have entered the best, practical and comprehensive period with high level of political confidence.

So far, Japan was a leading economic, trade, and investor of Viet Nam. Japan was also the largest ODA provider for Viet Nam with a total capital of US$ 30 billion, the second biggest investor in Viet Nam with US$ 57 billion of registered capital; the third tourism partner of Viet Nam with about 800,000 Japanese tourism tourists, and the fourth largest trade partner of Viet Nam with US$ 38 billion of two-way trade turnover in 2018.

Viet Nam extremely attaches importance to the economic ties with Japan, said Deputy PM Dung.

Mr. Dung called upon the Japanese firm to soon work with the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and relevant ministries, sectors and agencies to carry out cooperation activities.

He hailed JX NOEX’s business performance in Viet Nam, especially in applying technical solutions to enhance oil recovery, helping to stabilize Viet Nam’s exploited oil output.

The host leader praised the company’s social welfare activities, which have contributed about US$ 2 million to the social welfare work in Viet Nam.

In reply, Mr. Hosoi thanked the Vietnamese Government and Vietnamese Embassy in Japan for supporting JX NOEX to operate effectively since 1992, including the implementation of oil and gas projects.

The company hoped to make long-term investment in Viet Nam, not only in oil and gas exploration and exploitation but also in other fields, he said./.
