DPM receives Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs

VGP – Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh highly appraised Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam’s socio-economic development process, expecting the two sides continue launching Japan’s ODA-funded projects in Viet Nam effectively.

Deputy PM Minh made that statement on August 9 at his reception for Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs, member of the House of Representatives in the Diet Kazuyuki Nakane who is paying a working visit to Viet Nam. 

At the meeting, the Vietnamese diplomat applauded the strong development in Viet Nam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership, especially exchanges and meetings between their high-ranking leaders, including the State visit of the Japanese Emperor and Empress to Viet Nam and Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang’s State visit to Japan. 

He proposed the two sides join hand to organize high-ranking visits in 2018 on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties, accelerate the implementation of high-ranking agreements and enhance cooperation in economics, trade and investment. 

Deputy PM Minh suggested promoting close and effective coordination at international and regional forums. 

Mr. Kazuyuki Nakane asserted that Japan backs Viet Nam in sustainable development, expecting to continue close cooperation to boost Viet Nam-Japan ties more practically in the upcoming time, making contribution to peace, stability and development.    

He expressed thanks to Viet Nam’s active cooperation within related cooperative mechanisms of ASEAN and Mekong-Japan cooperation, hoping that the country, as a coordinator in ASEAN-Japan dialogue relations for the 2018-2021 period will continue promoting ASEAN-Japan relationship more practically and effectively. 

Japan advocates Viet Nam and ASEAN’s standpoint on the East Sea issue, he confirmed.
