DPM to visit Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand
VGP – Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue will pay working visits to Indonesia and the ASEAN Secretariat from July 19-21, Australia from July 22-25 and New Zealand from July 26-28 at the invitation of the Government leaders from Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and Secretary-General of ASEAN Le Luong Minh.
In Indonesia, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue will work with Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, meet with Indonesian high-ranking professionals and businessmen and work with Chairman of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Lembong.
At the working session with the Secretary-General of ASEAN, the two sides will discuss issues related to the realization of the overall roadmap to establish the ASEAN Economic Community 2025 and the implementation of the free trade agreements with other partners outside of the block.
The working visit of Deputy PM Hue to Australia will help promote cooperation between the two nations in fields of diplomacy, trade, creativity-renovation, finance, cooperation and investment in agricultural and industrial production.
In Australia, the Deputy PM will hold talks with Australian Deputy PM, Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources Barnaby Joyce, meet with the Australian business community in Sydney, join with FM Julie Bishop to attend the project on creative renovations and work with Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Ciobo.
In 2016, the two countries' two-way trade turnover witnessed a growth of 6.5%, reaching US$5.2 billion. Australia enjoyed a trade surplus of US$473 million with Viet Nam.
In New Zealand, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue will hold talks with Kiwi counterpart Paula Bennett, work with Finance Minister Steven Joyce, Foreign Affairs Minister Gerry Brownlee, Trade Minister Todd McClay and Speaker of the House of Representatives David Carter.
Viet Nam was the 14th largest trade partner of New Zealand. The two-way trade turnover reached US$250 million.
