Da Nang allows bars, dance clubs to reopen

COVID-19 prevention measures like wearing masks and hand sanitization must still be followed, local authorities said.

Da Nang became the epicenter of Viet Nam’s second novel coronavirus outbreak after Viet Nam had gone more than three months without recording a community transmission.

With the reopening of bars, karaoke parlors and dance clubs, Da Nang would basically return to normalcy.

Earlier, Da Nang allowed shops and restaurants to reopen as the central city has gone 14 days without community infection case of COVID-19.

Restaurants, coffee shops and their customers must comply with safety measures such as keeping a safe distance of at least one meter from each other and washing hands with sanitizer.

Municipal authorities asked residents to avoid going outside if not necessary, wear face masks in public places or on public transport vehicles, wash their hands regularly, and keep a safe distance from others.

Since July 24, the central city recorded 389 new COVID-19 cases, according to the Ministry of Health.

The city discharged its last COVID-19 patient, a 56-year-old man, on Wednesday morning. Da Nang has gone almost a month without a single local transmission./.
