Da Nang imposes tougher restrictions to combat COVID-19

Accordingly, all residents are banned from leaving their places of residence.

Manufacturing enterprises at industrial parks or high-tech parks are allowed to sustain operation with the maximum of 30 percent of their worforce at workplaces.

All public agencies and companies must ensure "three-on-spot" operation - which means production, meals, and rest after work at the same place.

After the week-long social distancing, the city’s Department of Health will launch a mass communty testing strategy to detect infection cases and promptly separate COVID-19 patients from the community.

Authorities are asked to make specific and effective plans to ensure food supply and essential commodities for the residents, particularly disadvantaged ones.

As of late August 13, Da Nang City recorded 2,370 COVID-19 cases and 45 coronavirus-related deaths, including 1,723 local infections documented since the fourth wave hit Viet Nam in late April according to the Ministry of Health.

The central city has undergone social distancing under the Prime Minister's Directive No. 16 from 6:00 pm on July 31./.
