Đà Nẵng to spend €22 mil. on bus system

VGP – The Municipal People’s Committee of the Central city of Đà Nẵng today ratified a project on upgrading public bus system within the period of 2009-2011.

The project, worth of 22 million, aims at minimizing gas emissions, improving local residents’ health, easing pressure on land use and urban space, reducing traffic congestions, economic losses and fuel consumption.

Moreover, the project is expected to guarantee safety of the bus system.

At first, the city will buy 75 new diesel-fuelled buses of 100 passengers each. All the buses must meet the European Union Standard (Euro 4) on environmental protection.
