Da Nang tops Google list of 10 trending destinations for 2020

Trending Destinations in 2020 is a list published by Google based on Google global travel and hotel search data, taking into account search frequency, popularity, price, as well as conditions for travel.

The report wrote: “The sandy beaches in Danang, the nightlife of São Paulo and Korean barbecue in Seoul are the first things that those planning for this year’s vacation thinking of.” According to Global hotel search, people from all over the world are interested in traveling to these destinations by 2020.

Google’s research methodology compares the number of hotel searches with travel dates in 2020 to a similar assessment of searches from 2018 for travel dates in 2019 to form the list.

The next 9 cities include Sao Paolo (Brazil); Seoul (the Republic of Korea); Tokyo (Japan); Tel Aviv (Israel); Marseille (France); Vienna (Austria); Bangkok (Thailand); Dubai (United Arab Emirates); Perth (Australia).

Da Nang has surpassed many other famous cities in the world and especially Asian tourist hotspots such as Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (the Republic of Korea) or Bangkok (Thailand), to stand in the Top 1.

In addition, Da Nang was also named as the top trending summer vacation destination in 2019 by American Express Travel based off its U.S. Card Member’s proprietary booking data and year-on-year growth.

Da Nang topped the list with growth of 97% thanks to the expansion of new modernist hotels, apartments and restaurants.

Da Nang received 3.5 million foreign tourists in 2019, up 22.5% over 2018, with the highest number of arrivals coming from the Republic of Korea, China, Japan and Hong Kong (China).

With the data published by Google this time, Da Nang will be more confident when it becomes a new attractive destination for users around the world for the 2020 travel season. The central coastal city of Da Nang aims to serve 9.8 million tourists in 2020, a year-on-year rise of 12.74 %.
