Dak Nong, Dong Thap to be placed under social distancing

VGP – Authorities of the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong and the southern province of Dong Thap have decided to put these entire localities under social distancing.

In Dak Nong, social distancing rules will be imposed in accordance with the Government’s Directive No. 15 in the entire province for 14 days, starting from 12:00 am of July 13 till further notice. 

Under Directive No. 15, all events and meetings with more than 20 participants in a room shall be banned.

A gathering of 10 people and more outside public offices, schools and hospitals is not allowed.

People are required to keep a distance of at least two meters from each other in public places while all service establishments are required to close, except for those selling essential goods and services.

Travel will be restricted from pandemic-hit areas to other localities.

Since July 9, the province has reported three locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases.

The entire province of Dong Thap will be put under social distancing under the Government’s Directive No. 16 since July 14. 

Earlier, Sa Dec city and four districts of Lap Vo, Lai Vung, Chau Thanh and Cao Lanh had already been placed under social distancing under Directive No.16 since July 11.

Under Directive No. 16, only factories, businesses and service establishments producing and providing essential goods and services are allowed to open and asked to ensure workers follow strict health guidelines. 

All people are requested to stay at home and only go out in case of emergencies, buying food or medicine, or going to work at factories and essential services that are not closed down or halt operations. 

If leaving home, people are requested to keep a minimum distance of two meters from each other. Any gathering of more than two people in public outside of offices, schools and hospitals is banned.

As many as 618 local infection cases were uncovered in Dong Thap Province over recent days. 

Meanwhile, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has decided to put Vung Tau City under social distancing in line with the Government’s Directive No.16 since 0:00 am of July 14. 

A total number of 35 community infection cases were recorded in Vung Tau City, 26 of whom were reported on Tuesday morning.
