Deputy PM meets with Japanese financial leaders

VGP – Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải separately met with leaders of Japanese financial institutions and coordination organizations in Tokyo on the sidelines of the 17th International Conference on “The Future of Asia”.

The above-mentioned entities, which have maintained close relations with Việt Nam, include Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Deputy PM Hải also separately met with Chairman of the Japan-Việt Nam Parliamentary Friendship League of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Takebe Tsutomu and leaders of some of Japanese economic giants.

During the meetings, the Vietnamese leaders highlighted that the strategic partnership between Việt Nam and Japan has been advancing well, particularly the substantial rise of investment and trade. Japan is now the 3rd biggest trade partner and the 4th biggest investors in Việt Nam.

Deputy PM Hải spoke highly of the role of such Japanese entities in consolidating the bilateral relations between the two countries.

He hoped that these organizations would continue encouraging Japanese businesses to boost cooperation with Việt Nam under new models like public-private partnership, supporting industry, workforce training, in a bid to help  Việt Nam improve its competitiveness and business environment.
