Discrimination against HIV carriers to be seriously handled
VGP – Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has tasked the Ministry of Health to coordinate with other ministries and localities to strictly deal with acts of discrimination against HIV carriers.

The Ministry of Health is also responsible for designing documents guiding the implementation of anti-discrimination provisions under the Law on prevention and control of virus infections causing acquired immune deficiency syndrome in humans.
According to the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Department, the total HIV carriers and AIDS patients reached 204,019 and 59,569, respectively, by the end of June, 2012.
The number of HIV/AIDS patients and death rate in 2012 continued to fall against the same period last year.
