Draft legal instruments put up for discussion

VGP – The Government on Wednesday discussed and commented on seven draft legal instruments, including the Law on amending and supplementing some articles of the Law on Corporate Tax.

Other revised legal documents are the Law on Emulation and Commendation, Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting, Law on Value-added Tax, the Law on Citizen Reception, Ordinance on national defense work at ministries, ministerial-level agencies, Governmental bodies and localities, and Ordinance on management and use of weapons, explosives and supporting tools.

Regarding the Law on amending and supplementing some articles of the Law on Corporate Tax, the Cabinet members said the bill aims to balance State budget in coming years without lifting up tax rates or increasing administrative procedures.

According to PM Nguyen Tan Dung, the bill needs to cover incentives boost investments in prioritized areas, including economic restructuring, agriculture and rural development.

The Law on Value-added Tax (revised) is expected to reduce administrative procedures and tax management costs.

The above instruments will be submitted to the National Assembly for approval at its upcoming working session.

As part of its legal building program in 2013, the Government also planned to comment on other bills like the Law on Viet Nam Fatherland Front (revised), the Law on Customs (revised), the Law on amending and supplementing some articles of the Law on Social Insurance, and the Law on Plant Protection and Quarantine./.
