Education sector sets tasks for new academic year

VGP – The Ministry of Education and Training set a series of tasks on English learning campaign, termination of contracted teachers, and ratification of new textbooks in the 2019-2020 academic year.

Minister of Education and Training Phung xuan Nha issued a directive on nine tasks and measures in the 2019-2020 school year. 

Specifically, the Ministry will launch a campaign on English learning nationwide for teachers and pupils; build and develop foreign language teaching and using environment at all study levels. 

In addition, the Ministry will continue to encourage kindergarten kids to learn English; apply voluntary English teaching programs for grade 1 and grade 2 pupils; develop English teaching skills for teachers; renovate English tests; and boost IT applications to English teaching. 

The Ministry will submit a merge and dissolution scheme of weak universities; craft a planning on university education in the 2021-2030 period with a vision towards 2045; and terminate contracted teachers.  

In addition, the Ministry will prepare for a new education program which will be implemented in the 2020-2021 academic year.

Especially, new textbooks on grade 1, grade 2 and grade 6 will be ratified./.
