Eight more COVID-19 patients given all-clear, recovery rate reaches 90%

VGP - Eight COVID-19 patients, all Vietnamese, have recovered, raising the total recoveries to 260 out of 288 confirmed cases (accounting for 90%), according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

These patients are in stable condition without symptoms like fever, cough and shortness of breath.

All of them will continue to be medically  monitored for the next two weeks.

Patient 50 was a 50 year-old man who was admitted to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases on March 13 and was placed on a ventilator due to serious conditions.

He was discharged from the hospital on April 14 and required to follow 14-day quarantine.  However, on April 21, he was tested positive again after previously five consecutive times of negative outcomes.

Patient 134 is a 10 year-old boy from Ha Noi’s Thach That District. He landed in the capital city March 18on board Aeroflot flight SU290 from Moscow and was sent to a quarantine camp in Thanh Hoa Province in the north-central region. He was confirmed positive on March 23. 

Patient 141 is a 29 year-old doctor of the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi. The doctor is said to have contracted the virus when setting up a ventilator for Patient 28. 

Patient 185 is a 38 year-old-man from Hoai Duc District of Ha Noi, received treatment at the neurology department of Bach Mai Hospital for eight days.

He was discharged from hospital on March 19 but developed cough on March 24, then his specimens were taken for coronavirus testing. On March 28, he was positive for the coronavirus and admitted to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District.

Patient 193 is a 21 year-old woman from Nam Dinh Province. She was admitted to the hospital on March 30. 

Patient 196 is a 34 year-old woman from Ha Noi's Thuong Tin District. The patient is an employee of the Truong Sinh Company which provided food and logistic services to Bach Mai Hospital. 

Patient 244 is a 44-year old woman from Duc Trach Commune, Bo Trach District of the central province of Quang Binh. She landed at Noi Bai International Airport on March 25 on flight SU2313 from Germany and was immediately taken to a centralized quarantine facility in Ha Noi’s Thach That District.

On April 6, she was confirmed positive for coronavirus and treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases.

Patient 263 is a 45 year-old woman and is a resident of the Ha Loi Village. She got fever, sore throat, dry cough, and tiredness on March 25. The patient was confirmed positive on April 13 and treated at the hospital./.
