The event is part of activities heading to celebrate the 25thanniversary of normalization of Viet Nam-U.S. diplomatic ties (1995-2020) and the 75th anniversary of the Viet Nam-U.S. Society (VUS) (1945-2020).

Speaking at the ceremony, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, VUS Chairman Nguyen Tam Chien highlighted the Viet Nam-U.S. Comprehensive Partnership, adding that the discussion has manifested the efforts between the two nations to enhance cooperation for mutual benefits through people-to-people exchanges.

He supposed that the two nations should accelerate exchanges and cooperation in projects in fields of economics-trade-investment, culture, education and other sectors.

Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Viet Nam James Bagert said that the U.S. Government expects to help Viet Nam create a safe and peaceful environment with a fair trade system and become a trustworthy partner of the U.S. in the region.

He referred to the bilateral trade value of US$60 billion per year and the successful operation of thousands of the two sides’ enterprises.

The U.S. Embassy in Ha Noi will continue supporting the Vietnamese enterprises to seek development partners in line with each sector in the U.S., he asserted.

At the discussion, delegates discussed difficulties and advantages so to find a new way for cooperation and exchanges for their enterprises.
