In the six-month period, the country exported 913,000 tons of coffee worth roughly US $2 billion, marking rises of 38.6% in volume and over 100% in value.

According to trade experts, coffee export prices currently stand at US $2,184 per ton, and foreign demand for the product increases sharply.

During the reviewed period, Belgium imported US $178.5 million worth of Vietnamese coffee, which showed a six fold rise over last year and placed the country the second biggest coffee importer, after the US.

Việt Nam shipped abroad 274,000 tons of rubber totaling US $1.2 billion, seeing year-on-year increases of 14.6% and over 80%, respectively.

It exported nearly 4 million tons of rice, valued at nearly US $2 billion. The exports to the Philippines fell, but that to Indonesia, Cuba and Malaysia surged.
