Finland helps enhance innovation capacity

VGP – The Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology and the Finish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 12 launched the second phase of the Viet Nam-Finland Innovation Partnership Program (IPP).

The second phase was designed to bring local and international experts together to work out proper solutions to help Viet Nam achieve economic goals through 2020, including the production of highly-innovative exports and services.

The program will finance businesses’ innovation projects and help educate first postgraduates who will be in charge of expanding innovation training and stimulating innovative thinking in Viet Nam.

The second phase will be implemented until February 2018 with a total budget of €11 million, 90% of which comes from Finland’s official development assistance and the rest will be contributed by the Vietnamese Government.

Earlier, the first phase of the program, worth €7 million, was realized from 2009-2013./.
