Haneda is one of Japan's biggest airports and not far from Tokyo (30 minutes of travelling).

The direct air route will take five hours and 30 minutes between Da Nang and Haneda. The flight will take off from Da Nang at 6.10pm, and 2.30pm at Haneda.

Vietjet General Deputy Director Nguyen Duc Thinh was quoted as saying that the new flights would meet travel demands from Japan to Viet Nam especially to the central region such as Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, and Quang Binh province.

The central city also hosted transit flights linking the Da Nang with Fukuoka, Sapporo and Sendai and Niigata, Japan.

National flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines and budget Jetstar Pacific Airlines already operate direct flights from Da Nang to Narita and Osaka.

Viet Nam Airlines is currently the largest airline with direct routes between Viet Nam and Japan, with an average of 70 flights per week. Since its first flight in 1994, the carrier has so far transported 11.3 million passengers, accounting for 65% of the market./.
