VGP – The Ministry of Health reported Wednesday that five more Vietnamese patients have been cleared of COVID-19, raising the total recovered patients to 63.

April 01, 2020 10:27 AM GMT+7

They include two men who were treated at Ninh Thuan General Hospital and three cases at Cu Chi field hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

The two patients numbered 61 and 67 in Ninh Thuan will isolate themselves at home for the next 14 days as regulated.

They were discharged from the hospital after being tested negative for the virus for three times over the past six days.

These two men left for Malaysia on February 27 and flew back to Ho Chi Minh City on March 4 on flight VJ826.

Meanwhile, three patients numbered 45, 48 and 64 in Ho Chi Minh City will also isolate themselves at home for another 14 days after exiting the Cu Chi field hospital.

As reported earlier, patients 45 and 48 had been in close contact with patient 34 who resides in the central province of Binh Thuan and returned Viet Nam from the US.

Patient 64 was a passenger on flight EK392 from Switzerland to Ho Chi Minh City on March 12.

So far, Viet Nam has confirmed 212 COVID-19 patients, of whom 196 infection cases have been reported since March 6.

The current 149 patients have been treated at 22 medical facilities. As of late March 31, as many as 51 patients have tested negative with the virus for the first time while 34 tested negative for second time.
