Four more COVID-19 infections reported, total increases to 53

VGP – The Ministry of Health has just confirmed four more COVID-19 infection cases, bringing the total in the nation to 53.

* Specifically, the 50th patient is a 50-year old man, residing in Nui Truc Street, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi. He returned home from France on March 9.

On March 13, he developed symptoms of fever and cough and was then taken to the Campus No. 2 of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District the same day for diagnosis and treatment.

* The 51st patient is a 22-year old female student residing in Xuan Dinh, Bac Tu Liem District, Ha Noi.

Her travel record showed that she went to several European country between February 23 to March 12.

On March 11, she developed symptoms of fever and cough. On March 13, she arrived in Viet Nam by plane and was then taken to the Campus No. 2 of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

* The 52nd patient is a 24-year old woman residing in Hong Hai Ward, Ha Long city of the Northern province of Quang Ninh.

She took flight from London, the UK to Viet Nam on March 9, then arriving home by taxi and isolating herself at home.

At present, she is being quarantined and treated at the Campus No. 2 of a field hospital in the locality with health condition reportedly stable.

* The 53rd patient is a man from the Czech Republic. During his stay in his country, he reported to have been in contact with Italian.

He took flight QR970 to Viet Nam after transiting through Doha, Qatar and arrived in Ho Chi Minh City-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 10.

On March 13, he developed symptoms of cough and felt tired and went for medical checks traditional medicine clinic in Ho Chi Minh City.

He was then taken to the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases where he was diagnosed with the virus.

As of Saturday afternoon, Viet Nam has 53 infection cases, of whom 16 had been cleared of the virus and exited hospitals. All the new infection cases have been reported since March 6.
