France Returnee Confirmed Positive for COVID-19
VGP – A 25-year-old man repatriated from France became the latest COVID-19 patient, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said Tuesday afternoon.
The man, who landed at the Noi Bai International Airport on March 9, is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.
The same day, 12 patients were declared free of the virus, raising the total recoveries to 2,246, according to the National Steering Committee.
Viet Nam began administering COVID-19 vaccine to frontline workers since March 8, with 36,082 people vaccinated to date, the Ministry of Health reported this morning.
The Southeast Asian country is set to receive 30 million doses through the COVAX Facility – a global pooled procurement mechanism for COVID-19 vaccines.
The first batch of 1.3 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from the COVAX Facility will arrive on March 25 while the next delivery of 2.8 million doses is expected one month later./.
