GNOME. Asia Summit 2009 in VN

VGP – Top computer programmers and distributors from Asian countries and all over the world will join the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) event scheduled on November 20-22 in Hồ Chí Minh City.

More than 700 guests and speakers from Việt Nam and 15 countries such as China, India, Singapore, the UK and the US will attend GNOME 2009.  

The aim of GNOME.Asia Summit 2009 is to popularize knowledge and chances to get access to FOSS in Asia as well as develop FOSS community. Speakers and GTK-based system mobile-phone developers will provide experience of applying open source code.

With the slogan “GNOME experiencing free and open software”, the summit will help everyone understand of GNOME and FOSS’ projects in Asia, introduce new GTK-based technologies and GNOME as well as strengthen cooperation between GTK-based projects including GNOME, XFCE and LXDE.

The summit will encourage Vietnamese to use FOSS, create the playground for developers, users and students to share experience of applying FOSS.
