Viet Nam is now the second biggest garment and textile exporter to the US, the third to Japan and the fifth to the European Union.

According to Mr. Le Tien Truong, Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association, since its admission to the World Trade Organization in 2007, Viet Nam’s garment and textile industry has gained an average growth rate of nearly 22% a year.

In the 2007-2012 period, the local industry lured 485 foreign-invested projects with total registered capital of over US$2 billion.
