Gov’t chief calls on Hungary’s investors to VN
VGP – Attending and speaking at the Hungary-Việt Nam Business Forum in Budapest on September 18, Vietnamese PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng called upon the host enterprises to promote their activities in Việt Nam.

The Vietnamese leader said to the participants that, in recent years, Việt Nam and Hungary have witnessed significant advancements in their economic and commercial relations. The two countries have signed some important cooperation documents on economics, investment, taxation, science and technology, and agriculture. The two-way trade value in 2008 reached US $110 million, nearly 25% higher than 2007.
Hungary considers Việt Nam a priority development partner and has increased its ODA commitment for the Southeast Asian country to US $49.5 million in 2009. Hungarian are now investing US $42 million in seven projects in Việt Nam.
The Vietnamese PM was quoted as saying that those results are not really commensurate to the good political relations, available potentials and aspiration of the two sides. He stated that Việt Nam is taking some measures to stimulate development and prevent economic downturn.
He praised the Business Forum as a great chance for the business communities of the two countries to exchange information, seek for business opportunities and contracts.
He also expressed his strong belief that, in the time to come, enterprises of the two countries will have more effective and successful projects which can help to foster the nearly-60-year friendship between Việt Nam and Hungary.
The chief of the Vietnamese Government welcomed and encouraged Hungarian businesses to expand their operations in Việt Nam.
At the forum, many corporations of the two countries inked contracts on IT, education, urban environment, and aquaculture.
