Gov’t chief encourages midland province to resume growth impetus

VGP – The Government will provide all favorable conditions, including upgrading transport infrastructure, to lay the foundation for Phú Thọ’s rapid and sustainable development, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng said while working with leaders of the midland northern province on November 22.

Praising the local government and people for their efforts to sustain an average growth rate of 10% for the past four years, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng emphasized that in 2010, Phú Thọ should do its utmost to resume growth impetus, promote industrial production, better agricultural production while develop services.

According to the Government chief, Phú Thọ should attract more investors to involve in large-scale industrial projects.

He also asked the province to enhance the training of labor force and poverty reduction.

The PM assured that the Government will assist Phú Thọ to narrow its development gap with other provinces.

Leaders of Phú Thọ noted that, next year, the province will strive for the growth rate of 10.5-11% and the industrial production value increasing at 17-17.5%.

Phú Thọ will also focus on two keynote areas – infrastructure upgrading and administrative reforms.

The same day, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng attended the inaugural ceremony of the Sông Thao Cement Plant in Thanh Ba District, Phú Thọ Province.

 

The Plant is a project in the overall planning scheme for cement development in Việt Nam. Groundbroken in April 2004, it has an annual production capacity of 1 million tons and employs some 600 people, mostly locals.

For the first time, Việt Nam undertook all phases of the construction of a cement plant, from selecting technology and equipment to building, installing and operating it.
