Gov’t provides nearly 137,000 tons of rice relief for people affected by COVID-19

VGP – The Government has decided to provide 137,000 tons of rice relief to support residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic since mid-August this year.

Specifically, the Government allocated 4,117.8 tons to three southern provinces of Binh Phuoc (559.374 tons), Bac Lieu (636.975), and Soc Trang (2,921.085 tons) in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1409/QD-TTg dated August 16, 2021.

Under Decision No. 1415/QD-TTg dated August 20, 2021, the Government decided to allocate 130,175.67 tons of rice relief to 24 cities and provinces:

- Dak Lak province: 534.390 tons

- Dak Nong province: 577.110 tons

- Dong Thap province: 5,883.465 tons

- Tay Ninh province: 336.255 tons

- Ca Mau province: 2,862.330 tons

- Vinh Long province: 2,103.195 tons

-  Long An province: 807.000 tons

- Kien Giang province: 2,278.170 tons

- Tra Vinh province: 1,738.950 tons

- Khanh Hoa province: 2,000.010 tons

- Binh Duong province: 11,325.000 tons

- Ben Tre province: 2,408.265 tons

- Binh Dinh province: 1,000.500 tons

- An Giang province: 3,362.280 tons

- Nghe An province: 341.100 tons

- Tien Giang province: 3,006.225 tons

- Dong Nai province: 3,128.505 tons

- Ba Ria – Vung Tau province: 2,283.495 tons

- Phu Yen province: 1,852.665 tons

- Da Nang City: 1,630.635 tons

- Can Tho City: 5,015.490 tons

- Binh Thuan province: 4,018.485 tons

- Ninh Thuan province: 577.200 tons

- Ho Chi Minh City: 71,104.950 tons

Under Decision No. 1470/QD-TTg dated September 10, 2021, the Government decided to allocate 1,847.265 to the two central provinces of Quang Nam (1,154.520 tons) and Quang Ngai (692.745 tons).

Under Decision No. 1499/QD-TTg dated September 11, 2021, the Government decided to allocate 208.875 tons of rice to the central highlands province of Gia Lai.

In addition, the Government has also decided to allocate 410 sets of tents and 14 generators worth VND9.2 billion to Ho Chi Minh City; 100 sets of tents and 10 generators to the Ministry of National Defense; 100 sets of tents and eight generators to Can Tho, Binh Phuoc and Soc Trang./.
