Gov’t releases Resolution for May

VGP – The Government has asked ministries, agencies, localities, corporations and companies to strictly implement Directive No. 24/CT-TTg dated June 2, 2017 on key tasks to enhance the growths of areas and sectors to fulfill the economic growth target in 2017 at its Resolution for May 2017.

These agencies are required to effectively realize measures to sustainably maintain the macro-economy, control inflation, restructure the economy, ensure the progress of equitization, State capital withdrawal and restructuring the State-owned enterprises, focus on tacking difficulties and obstacles in institution and administrative procedures and facilitate development.

Credit policy for supporting consumption, housing

The Government has demanded the State Bank of Viet Nam to closely coordinate with the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance and Industry and Trade to monitor monetary, fiscal, investment and trade policies, maintain the macro-economic sustainability, control inflation and create a foundation for sustainable growth, strive to attain a credit growth exceeding 18% this year, give priority to prioritized areas and ensure the safe operation of the system.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment cooperates with other sectors’ managers to review the implementation of growth criteria, inspect the realization of mechanisms, policies and laws on investment and business development.  

The Ministry of Finance strengthens management, prevents tax loses, tackles difficulties related to tax and expenditure and monitor the prices of necessary commodities and services to curb inflation.

Agricultural restructuring in line with consumption market

The Government has requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to accelerate agricultural restructuring in line with consumption market, encourage the development of high-tech agriculture and increase the value and competitiveness of agricultural products.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade enhances inspection and supervision of the operation of hydropower reservoirs to ensure the supply of electricity for production and livelihood.

The Ministry of Transport directs to speed up the implementation of key transport projects, especially Long Thanh International Airport project and the expansion of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, report to the National Assembly to approve the North-South Expressway and take measures to reduce fees at Build-Operation-Transfer (BOT) charging stations.

Social security, welfares ensured

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment continues to review, inspect and address violations related to the environment.

Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh directs the realization of temporally  providing new licenses for projects exploiting saline sand and the combat against smuggling and trade fraud.    

The Ministry of Public Security coordinates with other ministries, agencies and localities to ensure political security, order and social safety, launch measures to protect cyber security, prevent smuggling and trade fraud, deal with violations on the environment and illegally exploiting minerals and prevent fires and explosion.

The Government agrees to realize the policy to exempt education fees for pre-school education for five-year old children living in disadvantaged areas since 2018 as well as develop education, training and vocational training in the Mekong Delta, Central Highlands and mountainous areas neighboring the Central Highlands since December 31, 2020.

The Government has agreed to extend visa exemption policy for citizens from the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy until June 30, 2018, allowing citizens from the five European countries to visit Viet Nam without having to apply for visa with the time limit of stay in Viet Nam not exceeding 15 days since the day they get entry permit.
